Once each session the club hosts Blue and Gold night which is a fun team event where swimmers in the I Can Swim program and the Green and Blue groups showcase their swimming.  It is a great way for young swimmers to experience a mini swim meet in the comfort of their home pool.  Swimmers in the Yellow group and above act as officials and big buddies to the participants under the direction of the Assistant Head Coach.

**Please note that there will be no swim lessons run on this day as we encourage all swimmers (I Can Swim as well as Green to National) to sign up for our Blue & Gold event.

Swimmers meet their coach at their Stage flag on the deck at 3:45 pm where they are placed with big buddies in heat groups. It’s a good idea to bring an extra towel (or two) as they will be in and out of the water. Parents are encouraged to come and cheer on their children.

I Can Swim swimmers that have completed their current registered Stage will be honoured at the start of the event

Upon conclusion of the event, we will be hosting our annual end of season BBQ from 6:15pm - 8:30pm. We invite all Riptides (including I Can Swim) swimmers and families to join us for fun, food and activites at the lower picnic shelter at Bowen Park, located down by the river across from the Curling Rink. The club will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks and ask for each family to bring their favorite side dish e.g. salad, dessert, finger food...It is also a good idea to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.  Please be sure to declare your attendance to this event under the BBQ event tab.
